de Meric Stables in Ocala, FL, is dedicated to horses’ success. As a family-owned and operated since 1986 enterprise, they have built a reputation for integrity in all dealings and for providing race and sales results that speak for themselves.
de Meric Stables & Sales specializes in the breaking and training of young horses in preparation for the racetrack. Their pinhooking partnerships and preparation of 2-year-olds continue to separate us from the competition. Nick de Meric is a proud board member of the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association and also of Ocala Breeder’s Sales Company.
Jaqui’s main focus is the breaking program, where she uses “resistance-free” techniques. She introduces the yearlings to tack and riders in a round pen, using trained ponies and a ‘flag’ to desensitize flighty yearlings before a rider is introduced. The yearlings spend several weeks jogging patterns in the field and trail riding before beginning the next phase of training on the track.
